This design hosts a sequence of nine photographs selected from Bas Princen’s Reservoir series (Hatje Cantz, 2011). The layout is based on a single platform, which guides visitors through a story that integrates architecture, environment and photography. It is an exhibition made with a single material, assembled in such a way as to create a single continuous object, in which display surfaces and seats are integrated.
The installation stems from the need to create an exhibition within a space, the Casa dell’Architettura in Rome, in which there are no rectilinear surfaces (the layout of the room is elliptical) and characterized by many decorative elements. The shape of the installation is therefore conceived as a pause, inside which there are several micro-environments, where visitors can sit and have an ideal point of view on the photos on display.
