This desert villa is a concept developed for a private client, owner of a plot of land within a desert area. The ideas behind the concept are all oriented towards making the domestic life enough comfortable despite such a climatically extreme environment: the use of the thermal inertia of the ground (part of the construction is partially underground), the control of ventilation through a double shaped roof, capable of accelerating the convective motions of the heated air, which introduces the freshest, stationary air coming from cavities located below the sand, and, finally, the management of the lighting, through zenithal skylights and a natural light diffusion system natural that optimizes light by limiting sun exposure.
