Urban Centre

Triennale, Milan, 2018

Stage: Competition / Finalist Proposal

Client: Fondazione La Triennale di Milano

Surface: 115sm

Design’s aim is to create a new Urban Center for the City of Milan, within the spaces of the Triennale, formerly used as storages and doorkeeper’s residence. The new Urban Center has a size of 130sqm, divided into two levels. This is an extremely limited size, which requires an accurate management of the square meters available for the “public” activities hypothesised on the ground floor (conferences, exhibitions, workshops, a desk open to the public and interactive digital devices). The idea is to provide a total emptiness, to make it possible, at least theoretically, to have a space completely free. This void should be thought of as a “ready” and flexible device, able to host tables, podiums, chairs, allowing the greatest number of possible configurations.
